A Celebration to Remember!

We had a beautiful celebration on St. Clare’s feast day.

The weather forecast had not been very hopeful but the morning was bright and dry as crowds gathered in St. Clare’s Parish Church to celebrate St. Clare’s feast day.

We were happy that the young people from the parish joined us for the Mass before setting out on their two day pilgrimage to Glendalough. Bishop Denis Nulty was chief Concelebrant and was joined by Father Dunphy PP., Fr. Brian Kavanagh CC., Fr. Christopher (Capuchin) Fr, Leo (Capuchin) Fr. Eamon Hayden on holidays from Lusaka and Joe our Parish Deacon. Bishop Denis preached a most inspiring homily on the witness of St. Clare’s life and her challenge for us in today’s world.

Afterwards friends and benefactors lined up to greet us at the parlour grille. Refreshments were served and were greatly appreciated by all and especially by those who had travelled long distances from places such as Mayo, Tipperary, Waterford and different parts of the country.
