Hearts of Joy and Gladness
Incorporation of Sr. Analiza
On Sunday 24th May 2015, Sr. Analiza from the Philippines was fully incorporated into the Poor Clare Community, Carlow. The ceremony was performed by Fr. John Dunphy PP Graiguecullen assisted by Fr. Liam Lawton.
Questions Fr. Dunphy asked Sr. Analiza before she pronounced her vows.
Q. How long have you been in the Poor Clare’s Carlow?
A. Just over three years, I arrived here December 6th 2011
Q. Why did you choose Carlow?
A. I did not choose Carlow, I was sent by my Superior to share the life with the Sisters and to support them especially in their life of prayer.
Q. What was the reason that you decided to incorporate into this Community.
A. Because the Poor Clare Community here were so welcoming, a very joyful loving Community, they are very supportive to me and there is a wonderful atmosphere.
I love my Community and it’s my joy to live in a Community and to live out my commitment as a Poor Clare Sister here.
Also the local people are very hospitable, generous and very supportive to the Sisters. I got a very warm and supportive welcome from Fr. Dunphy and Fr. Liam Lawton.
Before she pronounced her vows Mother Abbess recited this prayer:
“Sr. Analiza, it is by God’s grace that you have answered this call to a deeper pursuit of your vocation, may this same grace strengthen your resolve to respond to His holy will in all forms and circumstances”
Fr. Dunphy thanked Sr. Analiza on behalf of the local Community the Diocese of Kildare and Leighlin and the Catholic Church of Ireland. We are very proud of the Poor Clare Sisters in our Parish and we appreciate their prayers for all our intentions. Their joy in their vocation can be seen in their smiling faces.
A wonderful crowd turned out on Sunday last to witness Sr. Analiza’s incorporation into the Poor Clare Community. Three Columban Priests came as the Columban Fathers have played a huge part in Sr. Analiza’s life; she was baptized by a Columban Priest who also helped to build the secondary school she attended.
A large group of the Philippine Community from Kilkenny, Cork and Dublin also came to support Sr. Analiza. She was thrilled to have them present and meet them after the ceremony.
